Afghan Delegation Met IMF Representative
The latest alternate meeting between DAB, finance ministry and IMF representative was held on July 10-15 in Georgia. The meeting was conducted to assess DAB and finance ministry’s progress towards structural reforms, macroeconomic stability, inflation rate, balance of payments, monetary policy, financial sector and implementation of quantitative objectives under the Extended Credit Facility (ECF).
DAB delegation led by the First Deputy and the acting Governor of Central Bank Wahidullah Nosher, discussed and exchanged views on aforesaid issues. Besides the first deputy governor, Mr. Naib Khan Jamal, director of monetary policy department and Mr. Salim Sallah, director of financial supervision department of Da Afghanistan Bank had also attended the meeting.
Following discussion on these issues, IMF representative hailed DAB’s measures and assessed the bank’s executions towards achievement of quantitative objectives as successful.
It has to be mentioned that among finance ministry’s delegation in the meeting was Mr. Zahed Hamdard, deputy finance director and Mr. Abdullah Raqibi, deputy revenues director, and on the other hand, IMF’s team was led by Mr. Christoph Dunnwald.
