Honorable Wahidullah Nosher

Acting Governor Da Afghanistan Bank

Dear Governor,

I writhe to thank you for sharing with us the outline of your proposed policies to safeguard Afghanistan’s financial sector during the difficult period of change and uncertainty. I found the document quite insightful and agree with your proposed measure. I am confident that under your able leadership Da Afghanistan Bank will continue remain committed to its core mandate of price and financial sector stability.

Afghanistan has made important progress in the areas of macro-financial stability and structure reforms under the recently completed ECF arrangement. Da Afghanistan Bank’s contribution was instrumental to the success of the program. Preserving the hard-won gain through consistent and prudent polices is of paramount importance going forwarded. In its recent meeting on Afghanistan’s request for emergency financing under the RCF, the IMF Executive Board welcomed reduction as its main objective. I look forward to working closely with you and the IMF staff in the design and the implementation of the successor program.

I wish you every success.

With my highest consideration

Jafar Mojarrad
