DAB Risk Management and Compliance Committee holds a Meeting
June 12, 2024 - The risk management and compliance committee of Da Afghanistan (DAB) held a meeting chaired by the first deputy governor of Da Afghanistan Bank, Mr. Noor Ahmad Agha.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Noor Ahmad Agha delivered a speech about the value of holding such a committee, proper and appropriate measures for reducing risks and adhering to laws and regulations in the country.
During the meeting, he stated that, it is essential to adhere to the laws and regulations in combating money laundering and revenues generated from attempting crimes, as well as to adopt national and international sanctions lists.
Mr. Noor Ahmad added that identifying the financial and non-financial risks of Da Afghanistan Bank is very significant and should be paid more attention to.
Afterward, the secretary of the risk and compliance management committee, Mr. Yaser Zahin, who also serves as the General director of risk management and compliance at the same time, presented the related directorate’s report, which covered the achievements progress, initiatives, DAB’s findings of the non-financial risk assessment of the evaluated areas.
In the meeting, the committee members discussed achievements, findings of risk assessment, and required recommendations for preventive measures in reducing risks, approving the recommendations finally.
It is worth mentioning that the second deputy governor of DAB, Mullah Mohammad Akhund, and the supreme council member, Abdul Wakil Montazir attended the meeting as members of the committee.
