DAB Acting Governor Meets with UNAMA Head

June 9, 2024 - The acting governor of Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB), Hedayatullah Badri, met with the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Roza Otunbayeva, and discussed the development of financial services.

In this meeting, the acting governor stated that DAB is committed to expanding financial services to all parts of the country so that the Afghan people can access cost-effective and high-quality financial services.

“To develop this sector, a regulation has been enacted considering the current situation in the country, and the people can access microfinance upon its execution,” said Badri, adding people’s access to microfinance will contribute to the decreasing poverty rate and creating job opportunities.

Speaking at the meeting, Roza Otunbayeva emphasized the significance of people’s access to financial services and committed to collaborating in the sector.

It is noteworthy that, besides the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Roza Otunbayeva, and her accompanying delegation, the meeting was attended by several director generals of DAB.
