About the Job
The Corporate and Project Financing Specialist works under the guidance and supervision of the Department Head of the CPF Department. The prime responsibility of the position will be the marketing, identification, structuring, negotiation, archiving, handling and execution of corporate and project financing, in line with the Bank’s objectives as well as co-financing arrangements with other IFIs and Multilateral Institutions.
The incumbent works in close collaboration with other departments specially with Finance and Legal department. Also, s/he maintains a network with colleagues from IFIs, and multilaterals. Required Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or a related field. A Master’s Degree in these fields is preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, ideally in a large commercial/investment bank preferably in a multilateral development bank in areas of project finance, credit risk, financial analysis and financial modelling.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Key competencies include teamwork, client orientation, success orientation, problem solving, loyalty, and self-motivation.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, adaptability, strategic thinking, creativity, and initiative.
Job Description
Key responsibilities of the CPF Specialist include:
• Building and maintaining relationships with potential clients.
• Identifying and developing project proposals to grow the Bank’s portfolio.
• Engaging with government officials and private sector stakeholders on project-related issues.
• Managing day-to-day interactions with key clients and ensures targets are met.
• Following up on proposals within the ECO region, requiring strong local market knowledge.
• Providing accurate, timely information to both internal and external clients.
• Handling referrals from international and national institutions.
• Responding to inquiries and proposals from potential clients.
• Preparing and managing credit reports for the approval process.
• Assessing creditworthiness of projects and structures participation in line with Bank policies.
• Drafting Eligibility Review (ER), Concept Clearance (CC), Final Review (FR), and Board Documents.
• Coordinating with other departments during due diligence and appraisal stages.
• Supporting the Department Head in setting financial targets.
• Developing origination targets aligned with the Bank’s business plan.
• Defining pricing strategies consistent with annual revenue goals.
• Ensuring loan portfolio aligns with the Bank’s funding sources.
