Training Workshop Held for Mass Media Representatives
Kabul, June 18: Da Afghanistan Bank organized a one-day training workshop for economic-section journalists of various media services on bank’s objectives, responsibilities and overall policies.
In the opening speech, Governor of DAB H.E. Khalil Sediq said that freedom of expression, access to information and media’s role in economic development, social transparency and justice are of great consequences.
Mr. Sediq said that Da Afghanistan Bank has always been pioneer to provide information to media. He thanked from media’s great cooperation with DAB towards accurate, effective and transparent coverage of the bank’s performances and the country’s banking system.
Subsequently, deputy director of monetary policy Khalid Miraj elaborated on implementation process of monetary policies, ensuring of price stability, supply and management of money given the economic situation and exchange rate.
Afterwards, deputy director of financial supervision Mr. Sayed Mohsin Sadat delivered a presentation on banking supervision and explained the bank ratings by adequacy and management, asset quality and liquidity.
Providing information about the establishment, objectives, duties and responsibilities of Financial Inclusion Department and public utilization of financial services, Mr. Abdul Matin Ghafoori said that FID is struggling to ensure easy, secure, economically-friendly and continued financial access for people, especially low-income and vulnerable individuals.
Wrapping up the workshop, DAB’s second deputy Governor Mr. Mohammad Qasim Rahimi, while stressing over improved DAB-Media cooperation, thanked media representatives for participation at this workshop.
In the final moments, questions were answered and certificates were handed to participants.
