DAB Held a Workshop for Mass Media Representatives

March 8, 2022—Da Afghanistan Bank has always tried to maintain effective relations with media keeping in consideration the principle of transparency and accountability which constitutes one of the pivotal values of this bank. In view of this principle, today a training workshop was delivered pertaining to the goals, duties and overall monetary policies of the bank for the mass media representatives of the country.
At the outset, the acting Governor of DAB, Mr. Haji Idrees, said that the freedom of speech, people’s access to information and the role of media are vital for the improvement of the economic situation, transparency and ensuring social justice. He also said that organizing such workshops for the media is very useful.
Mr. Idrees added that Da Afghanistan Bank has always tried to provide the required cooperation to the media representatives and has never abstained from sharing information with them, and through them, with the people. He also extended his gratitude and appreciation to media representatives for their cooperation in broadcasting effective and accurate information.
The economic advisor of DAB, Mr. Lutful Haq Noor Pasarlay also spoke during the workshop and said that in the last six months we have directed all our efforts towards managing and normalizing the banking sector of the country. Mr. Pasarlay added that by using various tools, Da Afghanistan Bank was able to prevent crisis in the said sector and, God willing, all activities of the banking sector will soon return to normal.
Subsequently, the Statistics Manager of the Monetary Policy Department shared comprehensive information on goals, responsibilities and overall monetary policies of the bank as well as information pertaining to price stability, control of money supply and Afghani exchange rate with the participants of this workshop.
Similarly, the employees of the Banking Supervision Department delivered a comprehensive presentation on goals and responsibilities of the said department, the current situation of banks and effective future programs of the banking sector of the country.
Answers were provided to the questions of the participants and certificates of participation were granted to them at the end of the workshop.
